Tammy’s Bio

Hello! I'm Tammy L. Simmons, and I've had the privilege of sharing my love for dance for more than 35 years. I earned my degree in Psychology with a minor in Dance Education from Middle Tennessee State University. For the past 34 years, I've proudly owned and operated TSD Dance Studio.

In addition to teaching, I founded our competitive dance team 18 seasons ago when my daughter was just seven years old. Since then, I have had the privilege of traveling with my dancers to competitions and performances across the country, including unforgettable experiences in Myrtle Beach, Chicago, and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Watching my dancers grow both on and off the stage has been one of the greatest joys of my career.

I am a dedicated member of the Acro Dance Teacher Association (ADTA) and a certified instructor in the Muv Method. With a track record of excellence in dance education, I have been honored with multiple awards, including the prestigious Dancemakers Inc Regional and National Teacher Award. My commitment to nurturing talent and advancing the art of dance is reflected in these recognitions and my ongoing contributions to the dance community.

My goal is not to just create exceptional dancers, but I am committed to developing extraordinary humans who shine with purpose, inspire those around them, and leave a positive impact wherever life might take them. At Tammy’s School of Dance, we are more than a studio. We’re a home, a family, and a place where every child is encouraged to shine, train, inspire, achieve, and grow together.
